Theatre has a half-life. Once a show’s over, it melts away. Twenty-five years after legendary director Robert Lepage launched his Ex Machina company with a seven-and-a-half-hour epic set in and around Hiroshima, the National Theatre has dusted down the extraordinary spectacle that few expected to ever see again for this nine-date run. At its centre, the atom bomb explodes again and again, but Lepage looks at the lives that would be defined by the fall-out of an event that shook the world and reshaped the future. Unmissable.

“Lepage’s shows have dazzled a global audience. His profound theatrical experiences explore history and the tiny humans swept up within it.”
