Angélique Kidjo

The Music Hall, Portsmouth

4 April 2020

The Benin-born Grammy Award-winning singer brings her blend of West African music, funk, R&B and jazz to this exceptional concert venue. In 2014, Angélique Kidjo had Archbishop Tutu clapping along during her tribute to the singer Miriam Makeba. In 2017, after duetting with former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne on Once in a Lifetime, she led a conga line through the auditorium. This guest-laden concert, a celebration of the anniversary of West African independence and Kidjo’s 60th birthday year, promises to be her most spectacular yet.
