Parsons Dance

The Joyce Theater, New York

19 – 31 May 2020

The New York-based contemporary dance company takes to the stage at The Joyce Theater with an eclectic mix of old favourites and new works. The latter include a world premiere from company founder David Parsons, set to much-loved tracks by Cat Stevens from the early 1970s such as Peace Train and Trouble. There’s a new work set to Baroque music by Matthew Neenan, co-founder of Philadelphia’s BalletX. Another world premiere rounds the experience off, this time from Joan Rodriquez, a Parsons dancer who makes creative use of his experience as an émigré to the USA from Cuba.
