i loves the 54

This isn’t the kind of music you’d expect from a group of Morehouse College students. Or, maybe I’m just out of touch.
Either way, The 54 is worth a listen. With lyrics expressing young man angst layered over intense, head-banging rock tracks, The 54 dares to defy the typical urban boy-band imagery and sound.
Check out their Myspace page to get a sample of their sound, especially the tracks, ‘Anthem’ and ‘Dream II’.
Oh - and, about the group’s name. Remember that tear-jerking scene with Denzel Washington from the movie ‘Glory’?
