scenes from the life of a self-proclaimed ‘good liver’
LaudedĀ among independent and avant-garde theater buffs as one of the great American films of all time, Killer of Sheep is finally being released on the small screen. Turner Classic Movies will air the film and 4 other shorts from director Charles Burnett on MLK day - Monday, Jan. 21 - at 8pm.
I’ve never seen the movie, but I’ve heard great things, and the clip below has me waiting with bated breath. As a matter of fact, I’m going to go set my DVR right now ;-).
cheers,
k

yeah, I’ll be spending a few of my MLK day hours watching a couple of those Charles Burnett pieces, this one and the Brothers Wedding.
I’d never heard of the brother and his films until I’d seen the promos for their showings just a couple weeks ago.
I’d never heard of this film but I am SO interested in finding it now. Thanks for introducing me to yet another great artist!
